New Eco-friendly collection

August News
As always it has been really busy, but this month have been very positive, after winning the shell live wire award and receiveing a large amount of international press form top blogs and magazines for 100% Design and Top Draw, I was asked to collaborate with the show designers JAM for 100% Design. Perfect round up to a great month.

100% Design

I will be on stand H114 at 100% Design 23-26th September, Earls Court, London. Also on the stand will be a good friend of mine SjGuest Designs. We would love you to come along and say hello!

100% Design collaboration

At 100% design I am also collabotating with the show designer JAM to create a large installation piece with at least 30 of my wall flowers for the reception of the press lounge and the VIP room.

The flowers are almost completed and range from 20cm to 90cm in diameter. They are looking beautiful with the sophisticated colour scheme chosen by the show designers!

Top Draw

I will also be at Top Draw 12-14th September on stand D137, Olympia, London under the umbrella of Design Gap along side other British Designers. I will be showing the interior collections, wall flowers and fashion accessories.

A preview of the Eco-friendly collection

The Eco-friendly collection is being launched during London Design week 2010.

This collection is inspired by the British countryside in the springtime, looking at the shapes and colours created in the wild rural hedgerows from local plants and bushes giving the collection a sophisticated colour pallet.

The cushions are all made in Britain with locally sourced and eco-friendly fabrics sponsored by Camira. The fabrics are made from a mixture of wool and stinging nettles, which are completely biodegradable and have a very low carbon footprint and also 100% recycled leathers.

Edinburgh Creative Boom interview with Steph Marsden, Craft House Concept

Check out this interview with Edinburgh based shop owner and furniture designer Steph Marsden. The Edinburgh Creative Boom has picked up on her wonderful shop, the Craft House Concept. Also see her video, promoting the shop

The first image shows the  upcycled sofa, which is talked about in the film. This sofa created by Steph for her shop combines an old Habitat sofa and my cushions. The back leaf cushions are a new colour way especially created for Steph from then new Eco-friendly fabrics. I loved how this work, it is now one of the new colours ways in the eco collection!
Steph has also been involved in Scotlands Housing Expo 2010 in Inverness. She has teamed up with HLM Architects and has kitted out their Eco-friendly home with Eco-friendly and sustainable British products. Check out this photo of two of my wall flowers teamed with the beautiful bed spread by Bluebellgrey.

Friday at the Fringe!

Friday started late but managed to get free tickets to The Sunday Defensive, best comedy we saw at the festival.  They reminded us of Inbetweeners and Mighty Boosh, they had great repore with each other which kept us thoroughly entertained and will happy go and see them again, even without a free ticket. I highly recommend going to see them while they are still performing in a ‘Portacabin at the back end of a car park,’ as they said during the show. I can’t see them staying there for long!

Alex and I then rushed over to see reel to real our other free ticket. For us it was biggest disappointment of the whole festival. We left early.

We then went to Tim Fitzhigham: Gentleman Adventurer. I enjoyed his personable nature, chats to people as they came in and honesty that he wonderful idea of the eco venue has leaked and damaged the electrics. His opening songs were witty and stories were engaging.

It was then a sprint over the other side of Edinburgh to see the vive le cabaret. The venue was superb and it was the perfect event to round off my Fringe experience with short snippets of several different acts. The hose Desmond O'Connor set a high standard of performance for the start with his brilliant songs, The show flowed really well and when after an hour and fifteen minuets they declared the end of the show I was shocked at how fast it went. The best act was the Australian group called Circus Trip Tease; they had everything you would want from a circus acrobatic act.
